Hi Starry, have you any current update on the condition of the campground at Moina. I would like to establish how boggy the ground is after all the wet weather or if it is solid underfoot.
Also i am cutting up some dry timber on the dairy farm we are on at the moment and should be able to secure a reasonable amount ( as much as i can fit in back of Chev) to bring along with us and we have a small brazier we can all use also.
If anyone is stuck for cooking facilities we should be able to offer assistance there also as we are fully self contained.
Cheers Mike

Thanks starry, I just spoke with Phil at Sheffield and he said that the ground there is pretty solid and should be OK even after all the wet weather. Anyway we will likley head up to Sheffield on Wednesday and stay the night there and drive up thursday to check the ground out and then if Ok will head up either thursday afternoon or early friday . If you want an update on the campground let me know your mobile and i will call you when we get there. I have secured a good load of dry firewood and Phil knows someone nearby that will probably let us cut more if we need it and i have a small chainsaw as well.
Cheers Mike

I went up for a bit on Monday and its the easiest going i have ever seen it. The bracken is dead (frost)? and a lot of trees down from wind. Found a picker over in poverty creek and some targets in a new area worth looking at some more. I dont think its ever been detected before.
One thing i did notice was someone did a number on mosquito creek where the road crosses to the claim. it does give good access to the bottom but makes it hard now to get a car across the creek now.
Again im working all weekend. but, the south side where the hole is and down stream a few feet carries good gold. suckers on them for not checking values first..

just to help you guys out with the creek names if you try at Bell Mountain The junction of bell creek where it forks 16 chains north of the main creek junction is where the big stuff came from. under the dam.(not shown on map) i marked it on the map with a black square. i have another map here "somewhere at home" that describes the type and size of the gold and its location on the field and who had each claim. Its awesome, but i cant find it....
