;D found some gold not enough to retire on ,well it's just a spec BUT gold all the same ,the 2 boys and myself went to doctors rocks 2 weekends ago spent 2 hours scraping sand and rocks out of crevices and putting it through a sieve ( the yabbie pump work well) ended up with 1 1/2 buckets of material to bring home and pan at our leasure this afternoon i went and panned 5-6 hand fulls of sand and got 1 spec and 1 huge grin ;D

great to hear people are finding gold out there , last time we went there we got drenched and found nothing and went up to mates block and sat in humpy as it rained all day cheers starry

panned a bit more this afternoon got a flake 4-5 times as big as the spec i found before ;D

What I found was when crevicing with a flat head screw driver, it's the mud & plant roots that hold the gold, break up the roots and get all the material/rocks that the plant holds, espi. if it is growing on bedrock, you will get a lot more material quickly without much work, hope this helps SO YOU WANT TO GO GOLD PROSPECTING: www.treasureenterprises.com/gold%20prospecting%20information/prospecting_tips.htm#

finnished panning the buckets of sand got 4 specs all up enough to hold my interest while i developed my panning technique i'm happy with the results i can't wait till next week end

wow bandit thats sounds awesome, I took the kids a few years ago to kilkivan in Queensland where you pay a few bucks and get to pan for gold, we all got a few flakes, ive been sratching around a few creeks panning and i take my gold stash to practice with, the good thing is i get lots of practice and find gold every trip still yet to find some for real here but not for lack of trying.
