I don,t know if most of you realise but if the Arthur Pieman area ( tarkine ,still can,t find it on a map) is world heritage listed it will mean the whole area will be of limits to recreational prospectors just like the jane river area except that it has a fossicking area WOW ,but no go anywhere else there so means a lot less places to go , most of which I now frequent and will not be able to do so , sorry for the rant but my family all work in mining or related industries and it could affect so many people
cheers starry ;D

Would have come along but I am o/s working - I have signed the petition and sent it to others too. A sensible approach is needed. We can have the best of both worlds.

well it was a great show of support from local people in Burnie yesterday 3000 people or the abouts showed up to support a non blanket listing of the Tarkine ?? the ever changing boundry area in the Artur Pieman area , on a positive note we did not have to fly in any from interstate except maybe Paul Howes from the union who represents the workers and I see Scott Jordan is organising another rally in Hobart on December 9th and says they have signed up more members and online members to support their cause but how many of these people live and work in Tasmania , does it affect their work and family I say not likely On another note the petition to allow sluicing in Tasmania will be online in early December cheers starry
