The first aid kit is one of the most important items to pack when going bush. There are many kits available on the market today, however, you might prefer to make up your own. You should make sure that your kit is in a sturdy, resealable and waterproof container with all the items readily accessible. If you make up your own a plastic container such as a lunch box is good. In my first aid kit I have, a first aid handbook; a pair of scissors; a couple of different types of tweezers; splinter remover; bandages of various sizes; assorted sterile dressings and band aids; a roll of adhesive dressing tape; gauze swabs; cotton wool; sterile eye pads; safety pins; disposable gloves; resuscitation mask; aluminum foil blanket; antiseptic wipes; sterile saline solution; stingoes; dettol; and antiseptic cream, panadol and mylanta. Don't forget to check the contents of your kit regularly and top up the supplies. Also check the "use by" date on any creams and lotions as they they have a limited shelf life. Hopefully you won't ever have to use it. cheers starry
