Great idea, I will go up on Friday afternoon after work and stay till dusk or so. Just to catch up with all you guys would be great. and if i can offer any track info into any of the old workings in the area, i will gladly assist. Stormont, Fletchers, Lea, Narawara, Bell Creek etc, I think the only workings i havent spent time on is the Devonport mine up on black bluff. Anyway, have a wonderful week all and see you up there on Friday and perhaps Saturday and Sunday too.. and monday,, tues.. lol

Hi Starry, am staying at Sheffield tonight, its raining at moment but went up to campground today. There was a caravan and a camper set up there but no one around. Camping area was damp but ground underneath quite firm and i imagine is very stony ground as right beside river/creek ( which was running quite fast) so drainage must be good. Drove the chev around the whole area and it weights around 4 tonnes and didnt even make a mark. Will go up sometime tomorrow and set up, so see you there friday arvo. It is worth letting everyone know that the turnoff to the Lake Gairdner camping area is approx 1km past Moina heading to Cradle Mountain but there is no sign whatsoever at the turn off. There is a give way sign at the entrance and this is the first road on right after you leave Moina. There is a dirt road right in Moina on RHS with a sign which says " To Lake Gairdner rd" but this is not the correct one, just continue for approx 1km to the turnoff described above and its about a 3 -4 km drive on the dirt roiad to reach the bridge and campground.
Cheers Mike
